Responsibilities include:
- Teaching credential courses and supervising candidates in the Foundational-Level Mathematics or Science credential program;
- Developing Foundational-Level Mathematics or Science program;
- Recruiting and mentoring credential candidates and serving as an adviser for the Foundational-Level Mathematics or Science credential program;
- Working with school district partners to identify Master Teachers and maintain feedback loops for program quality of Foundational-Level Mathematics or Science teacher candidates;
- Conducting professional development for teachers of Foundational-Level Mathematics or Science.
- M.A. or M.S. in Education or a related field;
- California teaching credential or equivalent;
- 3 or more years of teaching secondary schools (grades 6-12) in Mathematics or Science
- Knowledge of and experience in the education of linguistically and culturally diverse school-aged students;
- Commitment to ongoing professional development to maintain currency in the field;
- Knowledge of Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and/or Next Generation Science Standards;
- Experience using current technology to support teaching and learning.
- Leadership experience in education such as department chair or BTSA support provider;
- Teaching experience in a single subject credential preparation program including methods coursework;
- Experience working within an ethnically and culturally diverse community;
- Experience with mentoring and/or supervising teacher candidates;
- National Board certification.
This is a non tenure-track, full-time Lecturer faculty position. The initial contract is renewable contingent upon satisfactory performance. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
