Job Summary/Basic Function | Assistant Professor – Science Education; Full-time; Tenure track position RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: * Teaching undergraduate and graduate Science Education courses * Planning and supervising field-based experiences * Establishing and maintaining a research agenda * Departmental service * Contributing to the development, evaluation and renewal of certificate programs in Science Education * Participating in faculty activities and governance at the departmental, college, and university levels * Participating in leadership activities in local, state, and national organizations |

Minimum Qualifications | Candidate must have: * An earned doctorate in Science Education prior to appointment * Science teaching experience (K-12) * A commitment to teaching diverse populations * The ability to work collaboratively with campus-based and school-based colleagues |
Preferred Qualifications | Preference will be given to candidates with: * Experience with pre-service or in-service teachers * Experience teaching Science Education courses at the university level * Experience with teaching online courses * Record of effective use of technology for instructional purposes * Familiarity with standards-based accountability and teacher certification examinations |
