Job Description:

We are searching for a colleague qualifying for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Education to begin in August 2013 or sooner, if possible. Duties for the position include teaching educational research and statistics courses at the graduate level, and serving on doctoral committees in our new Ph.D. program in Educational and Social Change.
At the undergraduate level, Bellarmine University offers an NCATE approved dual certification program consisting of Elementary and LBD certification or Middle School with LBD certification. At the graduate level, Bellarmine offers master’s degrees in the areas of literacy education and teacher leadership, as well as a new education specialist (Ed.S.) degree for future principals. In addition, Annsley Frazier Thornton School of Education at Bellarmine has launched a new and innovative Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program to prepare “change agents” focused on improving education for children living in high poverty circumstances.
Requirements:

Required is an earned doctoral degree with an appropriate major focus in the area of educational research from an NCATE accredited university, and a minimum of 3 years successful K-12 experience as a teacher, and/or as a state or school district-level staff member in research evaluation. Highly desirable is a colleague with qualifications to teach in other areas of need in our School at the undergraduate and graduate levels (e.g., middle/secondary mathematics methods, science methods, literacy education, special education, etc.).

Additional Information:


Responsibilities: Teaching graduate courses in educational research and statistics as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in other areas as needed within the candidate’s expertise, academic advising, serving on and/or chairing doctoral dissertation committees, and continued evidence of scholarly research and publication. This position may include day, evening, off-campus and weekend teaching responsibilities.
