DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES: |
This is a Full Time, 9 month position Teach entry level physics lectures and labs (both calculus- and trig-based). Work with High School instructors to coordinate Dual Credit courses. Prepare new lab experiments; teach the operation of lab equipment and instrumentation. Also, teach mathematics if needed. SALARY: Based on Faculty Salary Schedule. Excellent benefits. |
GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: |
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Teaching experience at the college level in Physics, laboratory instruction and development required. |
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Physics or Engineering with at least 18 graduate hours in Physics from an accredited institution required. Doctoral Degree in Physics or Engineering is preferred. Ability to teach mathematics (18 graduate hours in mathematics) is also preferred. |
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Experience with standard laboratory equipment including Pasco probe-ware. Working knowledge of computers and multimedia classroom equipment. Excellent communication skills. Must be able to speak clearly and loudly. Must be able to stand for long periods of time during lectures and labs. Must be able to lift and handle equipment up to 50 lbs. Some evening work may be required. Ability to work under stress, to work independently and as a team member, and to deal with people in a professional manner. |
