Part-time Instructor at University of The Incarnate Word

Position Summary
Part-time instructor in the Department of Atmospheric Science and Physics will present labs and/or lectures in undergraduate core physics courses including mechanics and electricity/magnetism. The Department of Physics provides support courses for disciplines include Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Nutrition, Nursing, Pharmacy, Environmental Sciences and Nuclear Medicine.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and teaching ability needed in algebra-based and calculus-based physics.
Required Education
Minimum requirements include a 18 graduate hours in Physics or closely related field and a Master’s degree, plus a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, scholarship and community services.
Required Work Experience
Graduate coursework and teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience teaching at the college level, with undergraduate teaching experience preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with interest and experience in teaching a diverse population of students and using computers and advanced technology to enhance the educational experience of students.
Preference will be given to candidates with interest and experience in teaching both to non-science and science majors.
