Responsibilities
The Department of Physics at Florida State University is looking for a physics instructor (Teaching Faculty I).  This is a full-time teaching position, and the duties include teaching three courses per semester, assisting undergraduate advising, and contributing to outreach efforts of the Department.  We are looking for a dynamic individual who will be able to teach all undergraduate major courses from introductory physics to upper-level core courses, as well as graduate core classes such as classical dynamics, quantum mechanics, electrodynamics, and statistical mechanics.  A Ph.D. in physics or in a closely related field are required.  Candidates must have several years experience of teaching physics at the university level. Having a few years  of successful research experience as a postdoc would be a plus.  Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and with the ability to teach graduate and undergraduate advanced topical courses in the field of the applicant's research expertise.  To enhance the departmental outreach and recruitment efforts, experience in teaching and advising at the high school level will also be highly valued.
Qualifications
Ph.D in Physics, Astrophysics, or related field.
