Job Summary: The Physics Program in the Department of Physics and Geosciences at Texas A&M University - Kingsville invites applications for a tenure-track position in physics at the Assistant Professor level, starting in August 2015.

Job Responsibilities:
1. The successful candidate will be teaching all topics of undergraduate physics (including astronomy, music physics, classical physics, and modern physics at the elementary and advanced levels), supervising and teaching undergraduate physics laboratories, and helping to grow our new Texas Physics Consortium (TPC) program.

The successful candidate will be teaching all topics of undergraduate physics (including astronomy, music physics, classical physics, and modern physics at the elementary and advanced levels), supervising and teaching undergraduate physics laboratories, and helping to grow our new Texas Physics Consortium (TPC) program.
2. Therefore, additional responsibilities include an active role in student recruitment and retention, the development of externally-funded research, advisement of undergraduate research projects, and service to the University.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates should have a broad and diverse educational background and demonstrate outstanding skills and enthusiasm for teaching undergraduates.
Additionally, the applicant must provide documented evidence of 1) teaching physics at the undergraduate level, 2) recruiting students into a physics program, 3) mentoring undergraduate research projects, 4) communicating effectively in the English language, and 5) working in a multicultural environment that fosters diversity.
A PhD in Physics is required.
