Position Title:Engineering & Physics - Full-Time, Non-Tenure-Track, Lecturer
College InformationThe College of Mathematics and Science currently has 100 full-time and 82 part-time faculty in 7 academic departments. Position Summary:Lecturer provides a quality learning experience for students. Lecturer faculty performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the Lecturer faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning.
Department Specific Essential Job Functions:Duties include teaching day/evening and online undergraduate courses in Physics and Engineering and service to the department, college, and university as needed.
Teaching undergraduate courses in Physics and Engineering; coordinating the laboratory components for introductory physics and physical science courses.
Responsibilities/ Skills / Competencies:Reports to the Department Chair or Program Director and the Dean of the College.
Qualification/ Knowledge/ Experience Required:An earned degree Master’s degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval).
Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Qualification/ Knowledge/ Experience Preferred:Master’s Degree in Engineering Physics, Engineering or Physics is required. Higher Education teaching and coordinator experience are preferred.
Physical Demands:Repetitive movement of hands and fingers – typing and/or writing. Frequent standing, and/or sitting. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Visually identify, observe and assess. Talk and hear.
Work EnvironmentThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Salary Range:Commensurate with credentials and experience.
