The Department of Physics in the McMicken College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Cincinnati is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our drive to engage students and maximize learning in our classrooms. As part of the McMicken College Teaching Innovation Initiative, we seek candidates for Assistant/Associate Professor-Educator who have experience using research based, active learning approaches, and are willing to evaluate new models of instruction and embrace online learning.
The primary responsibilities will be teaching the introductory physics lecture and laboratory courses. The successful candidate will have interest in participating in the Physics Education Research activities of the department, such as development of assessments, collection and analysis of data on student learning, and presentation of results within the department and at conferences. This is a non-tenure-track nine-month appointment with an initial contract for three years; reappointments based upon performance reviews. Candidates must have a Doctorate in Physics or a closely related field, or a Doctorate in Science Education with a Masters degree in Physics or related field; prior teaching experience at the college or university level preferred but required for appointment as Associate Professor.
