The Department of Teaching and Learning, College of Education at FIU invites applications for a nine-month, Assistant/Associate Professor full-time, tenure track position in Curriculum and Instruction beginning August 2015.
Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction or related field with graduate work in pedagogy, curriculum development and evaluation and research. Aligned with C & I, a variety of content specializations will be considered (social studies, mathematics, science, etc.).
We seek candidates with a demonstrated level of excellence in teaching at the university level in the area of Curriculum and Instruction, including proficiency in course development and delivery for face-to-face and online environments.

There is an expectation that an Assistant or Associate Professor would have a research and publication record commensurate with the rank for which s/he is applying. Experience with securing and managing external funding is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with K-12 teaching experience.
Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Curriculum and Instruction (face-to-face; online) and mentor graduate students completing research projects, theses and/or dissertations. Contribute to program and course development and continuous improvement, as well as participate in accreditation efforts. Work with faculty across the college in those programs that contain Curriculum and Instruction courses for the betterment of the respective programs. Develop and sustain a research agenda relevant to Curriculum and Instruction and actively pursue external funding to support scholarly activity. Other responsibilities will include providing service to the program, College, University and profession.
The Department of Teaching and Learning offers undergraduate (BS) and graduate (MS, EdS, Ed.D and Ph.D.) programs in which Curriculum and Instruction courses are of particular importance. Our graduating students are well-qualified to work with diverse, urban populations. Anticipated start date of August, 2015.
