The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Valparaiso University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position for a one academic year appointment beginning in August 2016. The duties of the position involve quality undergraduate teaching of physics and astronomy courses primarily at the introductory level. A Ph.D. in Astronomy is preferred, but candidates with degrees in related fields will be considered. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required. Areas of active research in the Department include stellar astrophysics, nuclear and particle physics, condensed matter physics, surface physics, and computational physics.
