| Job Description | The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (EAS) at the University of Houston invites applications for a full time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Instructional Assistant Professor beginning September 1, 2016. This is a 9-month position. This position is intended for an individual with a specialty in geophysics who is educationally-oriented with a particular interest and aptitude for teaching and working with students. The position will entail teaching a minimum of four courses per year at both the graduate and undergraduate level, primarily involved in the department’s geophysics curriculum. Possible courses would include seismic interpretation, 3-D seismic interpretation, and seismic stratigraphy. This position requires a Ph.D. in geosciences. Candidates with industry experience are encouraged to apply, but industry experience is not required. The successful candidate will be encouraged to pursue their own research and develop their overall professional profile.
