LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/READER (7 POSTS AVAILABLE)
£29,853 to £52,346 p.a.

In order to strengthen the School of Education’s position as one of the U.K.’s leading Education departments,we are seeking exceptional people at a variety of levels of seniority.

Five posts are available to candidates with high-level research and teaching skills in any specialist areas of Education. For the senior positions, candidates should have an outstanding record of research publication, experience of university teaching and doctoral research supervision, and successful generation of external research funding.

Two further positions are available for candidates who can contribute significantly to the School’s work in Initial Teacher Training (ITT) in the areas of primary and secondary teacher education respectively. For these posts, we are looking for strong subject specialists, and are especially interested in primary mathematics and secondary science educators.

In its research and teaching, the School of Education has a strong international focus.We are eager to recruit colleagues with outstanding potential and achievements and thus would welcome applications from candidates based in either the U.K. or overseas. The primary ITT post will be based at the University’s Queen’s Campus, Stockton. The secondary ITT and the remaining 5 posts will all be based at the School of Education in Durham.

The School of Education is ranked within the top five Education departments in the U.K. with an undergraduate education programme that was ranked first in the 2010 National Student Survey.The School has a strong teaching portfolio including a large initial teacher training programme and a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate education courses. Our professional (EdD) and research (PhD) doctoral programmes recruit internationally and we would particularly welcome applications from scholars who can contribute significantly to this area of our work.
