VAP at Williams College

We invite applications for a two-year position, renewable for one additional year, as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics. Teaching duties start Sept. 2011. A Ph.D. is required; postdoctoral research experience is preferred. We seek an energetic individual who is eager to teach undergraduates; interest in involving undergraduates in research -- possibly in conjunction with an existing research program -- is a plus. Williams is a highly selective, private, coeducational, liberal arts college with strong opportunities in the sciences. Beyond meeting fully its legal obligations for non-discrimination, Williams is committed to building a diverse and inclusive community where members from all backgrounds can live, learn, and thrive. Applications (hard copy only please) should include a c.v., a statement of teaching interests, and a brief summary of research interests. Please arrange for two (or more) letters of reference to be sent directly to Daniel Aalberts, Chair, Physics Department, 33 Lab Campus Dr., Williams College, Williamstown, MA 01267. Review of applications will begin January 28, 2011 and continue until the position is filled.
