Concordia University Wisconsin seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position in Physics beginning in the 2012-2013 academic year with the possibility of employment beginning in January of 2012 for the available candidate. This position is in the Department of Natural Sciences in the School of Arts and Sciences. A doctorate in physics is preferred although highly qualified applicants possessing significant progress (ABD) toward a doctorate will be considered. Prior teaching experience is desirable. The primary teaching responsibility is a two-semester freshman physics course designed for students majoring in the biological sciences or chemistry, or enrolled in the pre-pharmacy or pre-medicine programs. The ability to teach an introductory course in astronomy for science education majors is a plus. ADJUNCT FACULTY - PHYSICS
Marymount College is building its adjunct faculty pool as well as seeking to find excellent faculty to cover one or both of these courses for the Fall 2011 semester beginning August 29, 2011.
Physics I with Calculus
Monday,Thursday 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., Lab Wed. 9:00 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.
Introduction to Physical Science
Monday, Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 9:15 a.m., Lab Fri 1:00 - 3:45
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
* Applicants should demonstrate a deep commitment to teaching and close interaction with students from diverse backgrounds, as well as an appreciation for the traditions of a Catholic college.
* A record of successful undergraduate teaching. Experience teaching on-line a plus.
* Minimum of Master's degree in Physics or closely related degree.
