FT at Hesston College KS

Hesston College seeks applicants for a full-time physics/physical science faculty position. Ph.D. preferred. Master's degree with potential or experience in teaching required. Potential to chair department and advise students. Applicant must demonstrate a commitment to Christian higher education and the mission and values of Hesston College.

Teaching responsibilities include: College Physics, Physical Science and College Algebra.

Position begins August 6, 2014. Review of application materials begins immediately and continues until the position is filled. Essays required (500 to 750 words each)
  • Pilgrimage: Tell the story of your spiritual, personal and intellectual development to the present. Include persons, events and ideas that have influenced you. Include your current level of church involvement.
  • After reading Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective, 1995, identify affirmations and any areas of uncertainty and disagreement.
  • Describe your philosophy of teaching first- and second-year students in pre-professional transfer programs and general education courses in the context of 21st century liberal education.
  • Discuss your views of the teaching/learning process in the physical sciences as part of the overall mission of Hesston College in regards to the historical-geological record of science.
