The
American Institute of Physics is seeking a Physics Resources Program
Associate for the Physics Resources Center. The position will be split
between three AIP programs: GradSchoolShopper, Industrial Outreach, and
AIP’s education and diversity initiatives. The GradSchoolShopper part
of the position will primarily consist of marketing the product to
students and leaders of graduate programs, while also working with the
GradSchoolShopper team to expand and reach out to new programs for
inclusion in GSS. The Industrial Outreach position will involve
research, writing, and support to the Associate Vice President for
Physics Resources in planning upcoming Industrial Physics Forums. The
education and diversity portion of the position will primarily assist
with organizing AIP Member Society Liaison Committee meetings,
interfacing with committee members, planning new initiatives.
Qualifications:
A
bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a relevant field, as well
as one to three years of relevant experience or a relevant graduate
degree. The successful candidate will have the creativity and ability to
create content and campaigns focused on students in the sciences, will
actively engage and be proficient in using social media and be aware of
key social media trends. A technical understanding and a 'fast adopter'
of new technologies, a familiarity with blogging tools, like Blogger and
WordPress, and a familiarity with Google analytics, Google Webmaster
Tools, Bing Webmaster Tools and similar platforms, as well as basic
knowledge of HTML are desireable. Must be a team player and be able to
travel on business as requested.
