FT at College of the Bahamas *PER*

The Physics Department is seeking a faculty member who has a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research; the ability to teach undergraduate Physics and Astronomy courses to science and non-science majors; and who has a research specialty in one of the following areas: atmospheric and environmental physics; condensed matter physics; computational physics; astrophysics; physics education; or alternative sources of energy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Teaching all levels of Physics courses up to the bachelor degree level;
  • Participating in curriculum review, revision and design;
  • Participating in departmental projects;
  • Contributing to the development of teaching materials;
  • Engaging in a research project with the potential for scholarly publication;
  • Serving on departmental, School and college-wide committees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • An earned PhD in Physics from an accredited institution;
  • Excellent tertiary-level teaching experience;
  • Evidence of research and scholarship.
Candidates with a master's degree in Physics and a minimum of five years tertiary-level teaching experience may be considered.

TM - Master's Degree $37,660 - $63,310
TD - Doctoral Degree $42,160 - $71,410
