VAP at Lawrence Univ WI

The Department of Physics at Lawrence University invites applications for a one-year appointment (with possible extension to a second year) as Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics to start 9/1/14.  Applicants must hold the Ph.D. degree in physics, astronomy, or a closely related field and must demonstrate genuine interest in working with undergraduates. We seek a conscientious teacher and a practicing physicist who will thrive in a four-year, liberal arts institution where close contact and collaboration with students are the norm. Prior teaching and/or postdoctoral experience preferred. Letters of application with detailed statements of teaching philosophy and experience and of research interests, and vitae should be uploaded to https://lawrencecareers.silkroad.com. In addition, interested applicants should have two letters of recommendation sent to search_physics@lawrence.edu. To guarantee consideration, submit materials by March 14. Evaluation of candidates will begin on that date and continue until the position is filled. Additional information about Lawrence and the Department may be found at http://www.lawrence.edu/academics/study/physics. AA/EEO: Lawrence University encourages applications from members of groups underrepresented in the physics community.
