Chemeketa Community College welcomes applications for a full-time Instructor-Astronomy-Planetarium
Position Summary
Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon, has an exciting
opportunity for a full-time physics instructor. The individual in this
position will be expected to instruct students in lab-based physics and
astronomy courses for both science and non-science majors. The new
faculty member will work with other physical science faculty to
facilitate use of a planetarium, develop curriculum and recommend
textbooks and instructional materials. Additional program work will
include the development of innovative and effective teaching methods in
the classroom. The typical teaching assignment is 45 quarter credits per
academic year, which can include a combination of face-to-face, online,
and hybrid classes.

Chemeketa Community College is the third largest post-secondary

Salary
Salary placement is subject to current contract depending on education
and experience. Initial salary placement would normally be at step 3;
$44,003/yr
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
A Master's degree in physics or related field with supporting coursework in astronomy from an accredited institution
