VAP Phys/Math, Adams State, CO

We seek an energetic and enthusiastic individual who loves teaching and shares our dedication to students. This position is for the 2014-15 academic year.  Major responsibilities include teaching 12 semester hours of introductory physics, astronomy, mathematics, and/or computer science courses per semester and other duties as assigned by the department chair.  Actual course assignments will depend upon the background and expertise of the candidate.

Qualifications
  • Masters degree in physics or mathematics, or a closely related field is required; PhD is preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and student-centered learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to valuing equity, treating cultural and linguistic diversity as assets, and promoting inclusiveness
Salary $40,000 - $44,000 depending upon experience.  Adams State University offers a competitive benefits package. Department Information
The Mathematics Program offers Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees in mathematics (pure and applied) as well as several Mathematical Sciences options including computer science, physics, information technology, and secondary education.
