2-year Lectureship, SUNY Cortland

Summary of Position: The SUNY Cortland Physics Department invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position beginning in Fall 2014. This is a 2-year position with the possibility of renewal. This position carries a teaching load equivalent to 12 contact hours per semester.

Major Responsibilities: Teach the equivalent of 10 contact hours per semester in both the algebra and calculus based introductory physics laboratories. The remainder of the Lecturer's professional responsibilities will include the coordination of the lab sections as well as the set-up and maintenance of the equipment for these introductory laboratories.

Required Qualifications: Required Qualifications:- A Master's or PhD degree in physics, physics education, or closely related discipline from a regionally accredited college or university.- Previous experience teaching physics at the college or high-school level- Evidence of effectiveness in teaching- Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:- Previous experience teaching college level physics laboratories- Previous experience setting up, constructing, or maintaining introductory physics laboratory equipment
