The Physics Department at Texas Lutheran University (TLU) invites applications for a visiting faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to teach for the 2014-2015 academic year beginning August 2014. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to teach undergraduate courses in theoretical and experimental physics and pre-engineering, at both introductory and advanced levels.
Successful applicants will have:
- PhD in physics, applied physics, engineering, or other applied physics sub-discipline (master's degree considered but appointment without PhD will be at Lecturer level)
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching undergraduate students
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate level in classroom and laboratory settings
- Interest in mentoring students in undergraduate research and research training
- Commitment to attracting and developing students from traditionally under-represented groups
- Affirmation of the mission of Texas Lutheran University, a nationally recognized university of the liberal arts, sciences, and professional students in the Lutheran (ELCA) tradition.
