and SALARY: Associate Instructor,
one year teaching position that may be renewed at the discretion of the
college. Level, which is used to determine salary, is dependent upon
academic qualifications and experience. Level 1 is comparable to
Instructor or Assistant Professor and Level 2 is comparable to Associate or
Professor.
DUTIES: Teach 33-39 credit
hours (day, evening, and/or weekends) per year and maintain 12-19 hours of
office time per week. Some assignments may be at an off-campus center and/or
include dually-enrolled students. Perform other duties such as committee
assignments related to student support and student success.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a Master’s
degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Physics. Ph.D. in Physics highly
desirable. Interest and experience in computer-assisted instruction and
distance education highly desirable. Must be able to teach both college and
university physics. Must have an ability to work effectively with a culturally
and educationally diverse student population. Proficiency and willingness to
adapt new and emerging pedagogies in distance and online learning, and hybrid
instruction is desirable. Prior college teaching experience highly desirable.
