Lab Assistant Director, American

The Department of Physics in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for Assistant Director of Physics Laboratories, pending budgetary approval, a faculty position at the rank of Professorial Lecturer beginning fall 2014. Qualified candidates will have a doctorate in physics or closely related field. Responsibilities include teaching, curriculum development and supervisions for undergraduate laboratory courses at the introductory, intermediate and advanced levels. The successful candidate will have interest and experience in experimental physics and undergraduate research. Applicants should submit: (1) letter of application addressing teaching and research experiences and interests, (2) CV, and (3) a teaching statement that describes the different strategies required for introductory and upper-level courses. Additionally, they must arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to the Search Committee.
