 POSITION TITLE Physics Instructor (full-time; 9-month contract)
Arts & Sciences Division

JOB SUMMARY Provide instruction in Physics and Career Physics.

RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct effective instruction in all assigned areas. Maintain current course syllabi and outlines. Participate in assessment and the periodic review and evaluation of instructional programs. Prepare and submit all required reports related to the instructional task. Assist in the budgeting process and scheduling of classes as requested by the Division Chair. Participate in meetings and committees as designated to promote the development of the total College. Work with other faculty/staff and administration as assigned to promote the total College and assist in recruitment activities. Maintain equipment and instruments. Assume responsibility for safety and security of assigned classrooms and laboratories. Be accessible to students including posted office hours. Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.

QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications
Master's degree with a minimum of 12 credit hours in graduate level courses in physics.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous collegiate teaching experience with community college experience preferred. Preferred MS degree or Ph.D. in physics with well-developed teaching skills and commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy.
