Founded in 1904, Wentworth Institute of Technology is an independent, co-educational, nationally ranked institution offering career focused education through 19 bachelor’s degree programs in areas such as applied mathematics, architecture, business management, computer science, computer networking, construction management, design, engineering, and engineering technology.
The Department of Sciences represents an interdisciplinary collaboration between faculty in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The department invites qualified applicants for a full-time position of Assistant Professor, starting fall of 2016, with expertise in the field of Physics. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to education and the ability to instruct calculus-based Physics courses at the undergraduate level along with specialized topics as needed. While our primary mission is teaching, the candidate is also expected to engage in scholarly work and service to the institute. We seek a colleague who will actively participate in our efforts toward externally collaborative, project-based learning, while contributing to the expansion of our programs and offerings. Involvement in research projects is a key element of our popular Physics minor. As such, preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the ability to incorporate undergraduates into their research program.
