Washington and Lee University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics beginning fall 2016. This position is a one-year, full-time position, authorized due to a sabbatical leave. Applicants should have demonstrated interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduates and ability to teach calculus-based introductory physics courses and associated laboratories. Instruction of additional courses in circuits, mechanics, or contemporary physics topics may be necessary. Ph.D. in Physics is required. Strong candidates nearing completion of the Ph.D. may also be considered for appointment at the rank of Visiting Instructor. The person we hire will teach six courses in the 2016-17 academic year, with at least one intro physics lecture and one lab section likely in each of two semesters.
