The Department of Chemistry and Physics is building
a pool of qualified individuals for possible part-time teaching
positions at the Hammond
and/or Westville campuses for the Fall, 2016 semester. Limited-Term
Lecturers are temporary appointments, which are appointed on a semester
basis. Pending approval of the Higher Learning Commission, Purdue
University Northwest (PNW) will be established through the unification
of
Purdue University Calumet and Purdue University North Central. The
target date is July 1, 2016. The Department of Chemistry and Physics
offers courses in Astronomy, Chemistry, Physics, and Physical Sciences.
Benefits do not apply. The fall semester begins in the fourth
week of August; the spring semester normally begins in the third week of
January. Courses are offered during the daytime and evening.
Essential Duties:
Teach a course or courses (lecture and/or laboratory sections) on a semester-by-semester basis.
Qualifications
A
Master's Degree in Chemistry, Physics or related field, or a Bachelor's
Degree in Chemistry, Physics, or related field with a minimum of 5
years of experience of direct application in an industrial setting is
required. Excellent communication skills required. Must be able to
work during the scheduled course time.
