Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Department of Physics at the University of North Texas is seeking a Lecturer in Physics for the Fall 2016 academic semester to serve in a continuing, full time position. The Lecturer will be required to teach introductory physics courses for both majors and non-majors and to serve as the physics undergraduate advisor. The minimum requirements for the job include holding a Master's degree in Physics, at least four years' experience teaching introductory courses in physics at the college or university level, and experience in undergraduate advising. The department serves almost 5,000 students per year from across the University's population, including more than 100 physics majors. The Lecturer position is an important pedagogically oriented element of the department's delivery of courses for freshman and sophomores from studies including engineering, biology, physics, and music, and serving others seeking science course work. The University, located in Denton, Texas, is the nation's 25th largest by enrollment, and serves a broad and diverse community in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and beyond. Minimum Qualifications:
Master's of Science degree in Physics
