Position Summary Information

Job Description	The Department of Physics and Physical Science at Marshall University invites applications for a three year renewable term Assistant Professor position beginning August 2016. A Ph.D. in physics or a related field is required, and several years of teaching experience is preferred. Responsibilities include teaching all levels of undergraduate physics and physical science courses, including labs. We also seek a colleague who will contribute to the University’s general education curriculum with its emphasis on First-Year Seminar which is intended to enhance students’ critical thinking, and to the college’s support of interdisciplinary programs. A complete application includes cover letter, vita, essay describing your teaching philosophy or approach, and 3 confidential reference letters which addresses your teaching. The successful candidate must provide official transcripts (undergraduate and graduate) forwarded directly to the chair of the search committee by their degree granting institutions.
