The Department of Physics invites applications for two non-tenure-track Visiting Lecturer positions for the 2015 - 16 academic year. One position is full-time and the second position is 0.7 FTE. The primary responsibility of the positions is teaching introductory mechanics or electricity and magnetism in small classroom and laboratory settings. These positions are distinct from the recently advertised two-year (with possibility of renewal) Lecturer position.
Wellesley is a highly selective liberal arts college for women located 12 miles west of Boston. Qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Review of applications begins on March 15, 2015. Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and the names/email addresses of three references through our online application system at: https://career.wellesley.edu. Please indicate which of the two positions (full-time or 70%-time) you are interested in, or if you wish to be considered for both. It may be possible to arrange the 70%-time position to be full-time for one semester and part-time for the other.
If circumstances make it impossible to submit materials through our application site, please email us at working@wellesley.edu. Questions about the position should be directed to Glenn Stark at gstark@wellesley.edu. Wellesley College is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching and service. We are dedicated to building a culturally diverse and pluralistic faculty, and strongly encourage applications from underrepresented minorities and women.
