Two Visiting Professorships in Physics
The Physics Department of Illinois Wesleyan University is seeking to fill two one-year Visiting Assistant Professorships beginning in August 2015. We seek candidates with a demonstrated enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching and a commitment to creative instruction in a variety of settings, including both lecture and laboratory. The successful candidates should be able to teach physics effectively at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum. The successful applicants will teach a total of 3 courses per semester, including introductory physics and lab, and may also teach intermediate or advanced courses, depending on the applicants' areas of interest.
Illinois Wesleyan is a highly selective undergraduate liberal arts institution of approximately 2000 students, with programs in the arts, humanities, social sciences, nursing, and business. The University is located in Bloomington, Illinois, a metropolitan area with a population of approximately 130,000.
A Ph.D. in physics (or a very closely related field) by August 2015 is required.
