Job Description:
The Education Department of Saint Michael's College is seeking an active scholar and collaborative colleague for the position of assistant professor in Math, Science, and Technology Education. This tenured line faculty member will be an integral part of a cohesive Education Department and is expected to prepare undergraduate and graduate pre-service educators to teach STEM education at the elementary and secondary levels. A successful candidate will have a strong commitment to the Education Department's mission of social justice in education, sustainability, service to local communities, and creativity in promoting innovative educational practice. Additional duties include supervising student teachers, developing partnerships with nearby schools, collaborating with faculty in STEM departments at Saint Michael's College, and serving on state, college and Education Department committees.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate in teacher education in math, science or STEM related field
- Successful experience in teaching math, science or STEM related field in public schools
- Evidence of effective incorporating of technology in instructional practices
- Commitment to working with diverse student populations
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
- Successful teaching experience in teacher education at the university or college level in a STEM related field
- Evidence of teaching and research for social justice and/or sustainability
- Experience advising students, supervising student teachers, and creating partnerships with local community schools and/or educational centers
