The University of St. Thomas Physics Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2016. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will conduct collaborative, student-focused research that is appropriate for an undergraduate physics department. The area of research specialty is open.

Including this position, our department consists of seven full-time faculty in a broad range of fields. The Physics Department serves undergraduate students, graduating approximately 10 majors per year. Our faculty members give students a high degree of personal attention to foster a nurturing, yet rigorous, educational atmosphere. Startup funds and laboratory space are available. Qualifications:
We seek applicants who have PhDs, especially those with postdoctoral and teaching experience, though ABD nearing completion of the Ph.D (with initial appointment at the rank of instructor) will also be considered. Enthusiasm and aptitude for teaching undergraduate majors and non-majors in introductory and advanced classes is essential.
