The Physics Department at the University of Mary Washington invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in applied and/or experimental physics, beginning August 16, 2016. We seek applicants with a commitment to excellence in both teaching and research at the undergraduate level in a liberal arts environment. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in physics. Preference will be given to experimental physicists with teaching experience who plan to provide opportunities for on campus student involvement in their research, who are able to teach a range of undergraduate physics and astronomy courses, and can contribute imaginatively to the curriculum.
The Mary Washington College of Arts and Sciences provides limited funds to its faculty for professional development. Institutional grants are also available within the College to provide support for research, research travel, and publication costs.
