TT at Hillsdale College MI

Applications are invited for a tenure-track assistant professor position that starts August 2016 to replace a retiring faculty member.  A commitment to teaching of undergraduate non-majors and physics majors is essential.  A Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field is required. Hillsdale College, is a private, well-endowed, co-educational, liberal arts school of 1450 students.  It is located on a 200-acre site in a beautiful, small Michigan town.  The Physics Department is well equipped and has 19,000 sq. ft. of floor space.  Salary is competitive with similar schools.  Applicants should familiarize themselves with the College’s Mission Statement ( http://www.hillsdale.edu/about/mission ) and include in their application a detailed response to the mission, addressing their interest and ability to teach in light of its commitments.  Applicants should also submit statements on their teaching philosophy, plans for undergraduate research, and professional goals.  Copies of college and graduate school transcripts should be submitted.
