TT at the University of the South

Department of Physics and Astronomy Assistant Professor The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of the South seeks a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor with demonstrated talent for teaching and an expertise in any area of physics, for a position in one of the nation’s top liberal arts institutions. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in Introductory Physics, both lecture and laboratory. The candidate will also teach sections of some of our advanced classes, depending on individual qualifications. The successful candidate will maintain an active experimental research program with opportunities for undergraduate involvement. Candidates should be enthusiastic about developing a teaching and research program in the context of the liberal arts tradition in education. Preference will be given to those with a liberal arts background. The University of the South comprises a highly regarded College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and a distinguished School of Theology. It is an institution of the Episcopal Church that welcomes individuals of all backgrounds. It is located on a striking, 13,000-acre campus on Tennessee's Cumberland Plateau.
