The Department of Earth and Space Science at Columbus State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the level of Assistant Professor to begin teaching in August 2013. Priority will be given to hiring a planetary astronomer, although theoretical astronomers may also be considered.  CSU’s B.S. in Earth and Space Science includes a degree track in Astrophysics and Planetary Geology, and the successful candidate will be able to support these programs.  Strong preference will be given to a candidate that can involve students in practical experiences or research in these fields, particularly research in planetary astronomy.

Applications for part-time and full-time faculty positions must include transcripts of all academic work, and official transcripts must be presented prior to campus visit if selected for interview.  Applicants must have the ability to meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) requirements, in particular a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
