VAP at Luther College


Luther College invites applications for a Visiting Instructor or Assistant Professor of Physics. A two-year, non-tenure track replacement position beginning late August 2013; renewal for second year based on positive performance.

Qualifications:
Ph.D. (assistant rank) or ABD (instructor rank) required.  The successful candidate will be able to contribute to the physics program at all levels, the pre-engineering program, and the broad general education programs.  Candidates should be committed to teaching physics at an undergraduate liberal arts college.


Responsibilities:
Teaching load is the equivalent of 7 courses (typically three fall term, one January term, and three spring term) and will include both lecture courses and labs.  Luther provides an environment in which innovative, interdisciplinary and collaborative teaching is encouraged and collaborative research with students is an essential part of what we do.  For further information see http://www.luther.edu/academics/dean/openings/.
