The Engineering/Physics/Systems Department at Providence College seeks applications for a full time, tenure track assistant professorship starting in August 2013.  A Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required.  In addition, the ability to conduct an active research program involving undergraduates, the promise of excellence in teaching, and a willingness to be active in service to the college and community  are essential. Applications from experimentalists are preferred. The successful candidate should be comfortable teaching courses for both non-science and science majors. The review of applications will begin October 29, 2012.

Interested candidates should refer to the College web site at https://careers.providence.edu and submit online a statement of interest, curriculum vitae, official graduate transcript(s), a brief statement of teaching philosophy, a statement of research plans involving undergraduates, and the names and email addresses of three individuals who will provide letters of refererence. Providence College is a Roman Catholic, four-year liberal arts institution conducted under the auspices of the Dominican Friars and seeks candidates who can affirm and contribute to its mission.
