TT at Duquesne University

The Physics Department at Duquesne University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2013. Located in the heart of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University offers undergraduate physics degrees in a student-centered liberal arts environment. The department pursues active research programs in materials science, experimental nuclear physics and gravitational physics, and aims to excel in undergraduate physics education. We seek an individual able to teach engagingly, especially at the upper level of the undergraduate curriculum, and with the ability to meaningfully integrate students in research in an undergraduate college environment. The successful candidate must be able to develop and maintain a vigorous research program in an area of physics that engages undergraduates and enriches the opportunities available to our students. A PhD with standard coursework in physics is required and postdoctoral experience is strongly desired. Applicants should submit a cover letter, vitae, statement of teaching interests, research plan and three letters of reference electronically to: facultyjobs@duq.edu. Review of complete applications will begin December 15, 2012 and will continue until the position is filled.
