Description
The Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Lee University is seeking candidates for a full-time, tenure-track position in Physics/Chemistry at the assistant professor level expected to begin as early as August 2013. The successful candidate will contribute to the university mission of excellence in undergraduate teaching while engaging students in undergraduate research and campus life. The person must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or physics. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Duties will include teaching courses in physics, physical science, and or chemistry. Additional responsibilities may include mentoring senior research projects, departmental and university committee work, student advising, university and community service; reporting to Department Chair and working cooperatively with departmental faculty in complementing current departmental strengths.
Qualifications Required qualifications include a doctorate in appropriate field; demonstrated college teaching ability; ability to develop and mentor students in original research; ability to integrate Christian faith into course lectures. Post-doctoral experience is preferred, but not required.
