Position Description
The Physics Department in the College of Science and Mathematics at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA is seeking to hire one or more Full-Time Lecturers for academic year 2013-2014 to begin September 2013, with possible extension to a second year. Primary duties and responsibilities are to teach undergraduate physics and possibly astronomy courses.

Required Qualifications / Specialized Skills
A Ph.D. in physics or astronomy (or a closely related field with a strong physics background) is required. All requirements for the Ph.D. must be completed before September 16, 2013.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills
Preference will be given to candidates with evidence of (or potential for) excellence in teaching. Candidates in all stages of their career are encouraged to apply.

Department Information (Faculty)
The Physics Department has approximately 30 faculty, whose primary function is teaching undergraduate physics courses to students in technical disciplines. We offer programs of study leading to Bachelor Degrees in Physics, with approximately 170 majors currently enrolled. We also offer courses in astronomy, geology, geophysics, and oceanography.
