Position Summary Information
Objective
To perform the day-to-day operations of the instructional programs in Physics.

Essential Duties

Teaching duties to be divided as needed among College Physics I & II (Algebra based), Engineering Physics I & II (Calculus based), Astronomy and Introductory Physics.
Teaches courses as scheduled.
Maintains regular office hours as set by the college.
Prepares course information sheets in compliance with Master Course Syllabi.
Serves on college committees when elected or appointed.
Provides a grade evaluation on each student’s perfomance in a fashion and frequency required by the college.
Makes recommendations to the Division Chairman regarding curriculum additions, deletions or revisions.
Submits reports to administrative officials as required.
Keeps current on developments regarding instructional methodologies and assessment.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Master’s degree or higher in Physics or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Physics.

Preferred Experience and Training
Ph.D.

College teaching experience.
Use of electronic media in the classroom and laboratory.
Graduate course work in Astronomy.

Physical Requirements
The ability to setup standard laboratory equipment.

Required Degree, License or Certifications
Masters degree or higher.
