Tenure-Track Faculty Position
EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY/ADOLESCENT DEVELOPMENT

The Department seeks a tenure-track faculty member with knowledge and abilities in ADOLESCENT DEVELOPMENT/EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY. Teaching experience at the middle and/or high school level in the United States is required. A record of preparing teachers to work in culturally and linguistically diverse urban environments is highly desirable. In addition, candidates should demonstrate experience in, or commitment to, preparing teachers to teach second language learners, being involved in ADOLESCENT DEVELOPMENT/EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY education scholarship and research, and using technology in teaching and learning.
The successful applicant will be required to teach a variety of courses to students with a diversity of subject matter backgrounds in the credential and masters programs, supervise student teachers and master's degree candidates, advise students, and maintain collaborative relationships with schools and teachers in the San Francisco Bay Area. The development of innovative instructional approaches, publications, special projects, and externally funded proposals is expected.
The applicant must meet criteria for a tenure-track position at the University. These criteria include a completed doctorate, potential for scholarly productivity relevant to the position described above, and demonstrated achievement and leadership in educational activities.
Screening begins DECEMBER 15, 2010. The position remains open until filled. The starting date is August 2011. The salary, to be negotiated, shall be commensurate with experience.
