Education: A Ph.D. in physics is required by the date of the appointment.
Description: Responsibilities: The position carries a 12 hour teaching load per semester. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate should maintain the level of scholarship necessary to carry out a meaningful research program that engages undergraduate students. The candidate is also expected to provide service to the university and the community.
The Department of Physics: The department of physics has 5 full-time, 1 part-time, and 1 adjunct faculty members. The Department offers B.S and B.A. degrees in physics and physical sciences. In addition, the department also offers a 2+2 pre-engineering program and a 3+2 dual engineering/physics degree program. Current research activities include computational laser biophysics, experimental electron scattering, condensed matter theory, and physics education.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in physics is required by the date of the appointment. Candidates possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills and a well outlined research agenda that involves undergraduate students will be given preference.
