The Department of Physics at IUPUI (http://www.physics.iupui.edu/) invites applications for 1-2 tenure-track faculty positions in physics, to begin August 1, 2011. Rank and tenure status are open depending on qualifications. Successful candidates will be able to complement the department’s current research strengths in condensed matter and materials physics, optical physics, and biophysics. Candidates with interest in experimental or theoretical research will be considered. Opportunities for collaboration exist with faculty in the 21 schools at IUPUI, including the School of Science, the School of Engineering & Technology, and the Indiana University School of Medicine. Researchers with a record of interdisciplinary research are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in physics or a related discipline, demonstrate the ability to initiate and sustain an externally funded program of research, and be able to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants at the Associate or Full Professor level must have an established record of research excellence, external funding, and student mentoring.
