TT at Valparaiso University

Valparaiso University Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position for Fall 2011. Candidates must possess Ph.D. by August 2011. Duties involve quality undergraduate teaching and establishment of an externally funded research program involving undergraduates. Candidates with research in nuclear and particle physics are especially encouraged to apply. Successful candidate must have strong desire to teach well. Prior teaching and postdoctoral research experience preferred. Valparaiso University is a highly regarded private university of over 4000 students located 50 miles SE of Chicago. Departmental research areas include nuclear and particle physics, stellar astrophysics, condensed matter physics, surface physics, and atmospheric physics.
